DRDO successfully test-fires new air to air missile ‘Astra’

Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) successfully test fired the Astra, air to air missile with a range of over 70 kms.

The missile was test fired from a Su-30MKI combat aircraft that took off from an air base in West Bengal.

The live aerial target was engaged accurately. “The mission profile was executed in a textbook manner”. The missile was designed by the DRDO, the premiere research and development organisation of the armed forces in the country, A defence official asserted.
