NABARD sanctions Rs. 765 cr. loan for new godowns

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has sanctioned Rs.765.36 crore loan for construction of godowns/warehouses at 1,037 locations in the State with a storage capacity of 12.6 lakh tonnes.

Accordingly, the Agricultural Marketing Department and Co-operation Department have been directed to give administrative approvals to the proposed works within a month so that detailed sanction letters are issued after the receipt of administrative approvals. Based on the two departments’ request the government has issued administrative approval to the works proposed under Warehouse Infrastructure Fund (WIF) of NABARD. Importance in GS3 economy
